League table predictions
Participants arrange every club in their predicted final position, save their table and follow the leaderboard through the season. Each club contributes the difference between its predicted and actual position. The lowest total of error points wins.
Predicted 3rd, currently 5th: 2 error points. Add the errors across the table.
Before launch, confirm the competition, season, entry deadline, tie-breaks and whether any late entry is allowed. Late-entry rules belong in the agreed competition rules; they are not automatically copied from the consumer product.
Try the league example →Round-by-round cups: Who advances?
Pick the team that advances from each tie. A new prediction round opens when the next draw is confirmed. Unknown future fixtures stay unknown; participants are not asked to invent a complete bracket.
The cup examples show progress, saved picks, round and overall leaderboards, and share cards. The competition rules must confirm points, tie-breaks, two-leg ties, extra time and penalties, and entry into later rounds.
Each tie locks at its agreed official kickoff. Unconfirmed times must stay labelled unconfirmed; demonstration times and sample results are not official fixtures.

Match-by-match predictions
Recurring match questions give readers something to take part in each round. Define the result they are predicting, when selections close and whether the format is scored or simply compares community choices.
The live consumer product has two distinct examples: The 15 is a scored card of fifteen matches submitted before the first kickoff; Match Picks is a casual, unscored way to choose fixture results and compare the community vote. A publisher edition has its own agreed schedule and rules.
See The 15 on the consumer site → See casual Match Picks on the consumer site →An opinion poll is different from a result prediction. See match picks and fan votes for the optional module; a complete scored match game needs an agreed format and delivery scope.
UEFA knockout concepts
The Champions League, Europa League and Conference League concepts ask who advances from a tie. In the two-leg example, one pick covers the whole matchup: the first leg is context, and the prediction is settled when the advancing team is known. The final example is a single match.
Review the first leg, return leg and decided states, including advancement after extra time or penalties. These are illustrative pairings and results, not an official future draw. The draw-awaited view leaves fixtures pending; illustrative mode lets you explore hypothetical matchups in later rounds too.

The Svenska Cupen network concept demonstrates changing question types through a tournament. Group-stage match picks use the result after 90 minutes including stoppage time; advancement questions use the team that goes through, including extra time and penalties. Keep these rules visible rather than treating them as the same question.
A group-winner or tournament-winner pick can settle later than the round when it was entered. The example also shows round, overall and local rankings within a shared network. Its clubs, publications, results and timing are fictional.

You can try making and saving selections locally. Illustrative standings and leaderboards demonstrate the experience. A concept is not a launched publisher campaign, and local demo picks are not real participant submissions.
Official draw data, where used, is identified in the example. Club and competition marks do not imply an endorsement or partnership.
